Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of The Well Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19
Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19
Man
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is flawed by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. Sin separates man from God.
Genesis 1:27, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:2
Genesis 1:27, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:2
Eternity
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with God is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
John 3:16, 1 John 5:11-12, Revelation 20:15
John 3:16, 1 John 5:11-12, Revelation 20:15
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days, he ascended to heaven, and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:22-23, Hebrews 4:14-15, Hebrews 4:14-15, Acts 1:9-11, 1 Timothy 6:14-15
Matthew 1:22-23, Hebrews 4:14-15, Hebrews 4:14-15, Acts 1:9-11, 1 Timothy 6:14-15
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to men. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by turning from a life of sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

HEALING
Because of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross, humanity can experience the healing power of God.
Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24-25
Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24-25
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. At salvation, the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian. He guides Christians into all spiritual truth and produces the fruit of the Spirit in the Christian’s life. The empowering of the Holy Spirit, which is the promise of the Father, is available for every Christian.

The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to all men. Because the Bible is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

IN ADDITION TO ESSENTIAL BELIEFS, WE HAVE LIBERTY IN NON-ESSENTIAL BELIEFS.
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master servants stand or fall… So then each of us will give an account of ourselves to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.
Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22
“I have the right to do anything,” you say–but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”–but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:23-4
